OpenRegistry defines a set of operations that can be used to find and maintain information about any collection of web objects. The operation interfaces are based on HTTP GET and POST requests. The requests follow a logical pattern that extend a base URL (the ServiceURL) in a prescribed fashion.

Users interested in searching for objects will primarily use the find_objects and show_object operations. The other operations support content maintenance, service discovery, and data exchange with peer registries.

This standard does not include any additional operations that could be used to control the contents of a registry (such as accept, edit, or delete). Implementation of these functions is left to the discretion of each individual registry.
